World AIDS Day Events

World AIDS Day Events

World AIDS Day is a time to reflect and remember all those we lost and those who are still fighting HIV. It’s a time to recognize the medical pioneers, activists, and loved ones who have fought since the early 1980’s to find an end to this epidemic.

This year, ARE is hosting three events to honor World AIDS Day. We hope you can join us.

November 27th–4pm-6pm

Join ARE in an open-house event located at ARE offices (124 West Piccadilly Street) to mingle with community members, have some food, learn about the history of HIV, and find out about ARE services.

November 29th–5pm-7pm

ARE invites you to Shenandoah University (Ferrari Room, Brandt Student Center) in watching “The Last One”, a film about the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Popcorn and drinks are provided, and door prizes will be given out.

December 1st–5:30pm-7:30pm

ARE would like to invite the community to a World AIDS Day remembrance event at Shenandoah University (Ferrari Room, Brandt Student Center). There will be a candlelight vigil, songs by the Shenandoah Choir, and guests speakers to talk about living with HIV.
