“A Day of Reflection” A World AIDS Day Event
World AIDS Day takes place on December 1st every year.
The day is meant to serve as a rememberance to those we lost to the fight against HIV/AIDS, those still fighting, and acknowledging the advocates and activists who have fought during the past 30 years of the epidemic for the rights and treatments for people living with HIV.
Join ARE this December 1st at 6:00pm for “A Day of Reflection.”
The event will be located on the Our Health Campus in the Eagles Community Conference Center. (329 N. Cameron Street, Winchester, VA 22601)
From 6:00pm-7:00pm there will be light refreshments served and displays depicting the past, present, and future of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
From 7:00pm-8:00pm there will be a presentation from ARE’s Executive Director and musical performance from an ARE Board member.
There will also be a memorial candlelight vigil following the presentation.
“We live in a completely interdependent world, which simply means we cannot escape each other. How we respond to AIDS depends, in part, on whether we understand this interdependence. It is not someone else’s problem. This is everbody’s problem.” -Bill Clinton
